SuPERga or SUperga?
HAPPY WEDNESDAY EVERYONE, let's start todays blog off with a riddle. Can anyone tell me what I, Kate Middleton and Emma Watson have in common? No? Haven't got it? WE ALL WEAR SUPERGA. As followers of this blog and of myself on Instagram it might be a tad strange that I am doing a blog about trainers, nevertheless these things have taken me by storm and I was astonished that I had not heard of them beforehand.
It's hard to believe that Superga is well over 100 years old. Under the care and attention of Walter Martiny in 1911, the Superga factory began to produce shoes with vulcanized rubber soles. It was over in Turin, Italy, that the Classic Superga 2750 heritage style was born. After closing during the war, the Superga factory reopened with a mission to bring high quality footwear to the people of Italy. The 2750 became established as the people's shoe of Italy, and Superga increased its product line with technical sport shoes, rubber rain boots and a growing range of colours and styles and when I say growing I mean these guys have got EVERY style you can think of.
The 2750 shoe has been an icon since the very beginning and has inspired flatforms and mid tops, been transformed for all weathers, and has collaborated with top names to bring you fresh new designs. Taking you from the city to the beach, from the office to the bar, or from the high street to the park, the easy, comfortable Superga shoe has no boundaries and any boundaries it encounters it smashes down. As someone who grew up pretty much living in Converse I went off trainers for a very long time and it took me a while to start to look back into various brands and see what I could find.
So after a fair bit of searching I finally came across Superga who had actually been recommended to me by a mate. As soon as my Superga trainers arrived (thanks a lot by the way chaps) I noticed they have got more substance to them in comparison to converse, they also are slightly heavier which is perfect for me. I wear trainers until they DIE and before owning a pair of proper shoes I used to treat shoes horribly. Now however I am quite into keeping them fresh and looking clean. Obviously white trainers are difficult to maintain and in my opinion have two separate lives. The 'FRESHHHHHH' state and normally shortly followed by the 'completely destroyed but has stories to tell' state. Superga trainers will see you through both, these guys won't bail on you, the thick rubber soles and solid canvas upper will be willing to go wherever you will go and keep up.
With white, navy, sand, khaki, leather, slip-ons, slim soles, flatforms, metallics and C3p0. YES C-FLIPPING-3P0, you can find the creps for you. If you want to personalise NO PROBLEM, they even have artists working in store who can completely personalise your trainers with any design you'd like. How cool is that? Now get rid of those chuck tailors and grab yourself a pair of these naughty pieces of Italian finery.
Also if anyone can actually confirm how to pronounce Superga, hit me up on insta. I am getting many conflicting answers!
